This is a nice ’57 style Fender Stratocaster made in Japan, we think in 1992.

Back in the 90s when the Fender MIJ (Made in Japan) Vintage ’57 Stratocaster Reissues were arriving in markets worldwide, it’s likely the average guitarist didn’t realise quite what a luxury they were.

Made by the plant which had shocked Fender USA with the quality and accuracy of the first Japanese Fender Vintage Reissues in 1982, these attitude-drenched and irresistibly pretty bundles of joy could still be found at very reasonable prices ten years on in the early ‘90s.

They were players’ guitars of the highest order, and even in the early ‘90s, in terms of charm and magnetism, they were still putting out a challenge to American Stratocasters. And this one is no different.

The lower tone knob controls a Fender TBX tone circuit

The middle tone pot winds in an infinitely variable amount of the neck pickup to any switch setting

Mini toggle switch selects pickups in and out of phase for even more useable tones.

This guitar has a comfortable soft V neck profile – fits nicely in your hand. The vintage frets are in good condition – no real wear to be seen.

There a few bumps & dings but nothing offensive – just the result of honest player wear over almost 30 years.

The finish is a quite lovely translucent red which allows the natural grain of the solid ash body to seen. This is offset by the pearloid pick guard and gold hardware which remains in very good, almost untarnished condition.

This is a good workdog Strat, set up nicely and with some high quality upgrades to ensure the instrument performs at its best.

Comes in a basic gig bag in good condition.
